NATURAL DRY PROCESSED & WILD GROWN COFFEE!

WINNER: BEST OF OAHU

COFFEE HISTORY:
The first coffee was first introduced to Hawaii along Manoa Valley in 1813 by Don Francisco de Paula y Marin as an ornamental plant, but failed to propogate. In 1825, Chief Boki, the Royal Governor of Oahu, followed up and brought coffee trees back from Brazil by way of the British warship HMS Blonde. Chief Boki also chose the Manoa Valley location as the historic birth site of the very first successful coffee plantation in Hawaii. With the aid of agricultural expert, John Wilkinson, the coffee trees were able to survive which allowed itsdescendents to be brought over to Kona and other islands many years later. However, during the same time period, Chief Boki was reported to be lost at sea near Samoa and with it, his dream of Hawaii's first commercial coffee plantation........Today, Chief Boki’s dream is being fulfilled by using some of the original seed stock from Manoa Valley.

BIG ISLAND AND OAHU WILD GROWN COFFEES:
HAND PICKED: Pavaraga's employees, including baristas are all knowledgeable about the coffees they serve. They all have grass roots or hands-on experience from A-Z (Christopher: Barista-East Coast).

NATURAL PROCESSED: Keeping in line with an organic and eco-friendly theme, the coffee cherries are processed using the natural or "dry processed" method. Our method uses no electricity, water, propane or foreign means to produce coffee....simply natural sun light. About 75% of the skin is used as a compost for fertilizer and 25% is used to make one of our new products, coffee-tea.
